How to attract users?
People around public displays carry out other activities.
Goals of the research
- the flow of people around public displays
- the level and type of interaction
- the transition that occurs between types of interaction
- factors that cause social awkwardness and embarrassment
Honey pot effect: Attracting other people to interact with the system by standing in its near proximity and expressing their facial or behavioral expressions.
The bottlenecks in the system
- belief in how interesting the system is
- Perception of what it is, how to use it, how long it takes to use it
- Understanding its social standing and required etiquette
- Knowledge of the social system
- The difficulty of using the system for them to pick it up
broadcasting the results to the public may result in a public shame by all the people involved in the process of interaction.
What about bomberman? isnt it going to result in public shame?Different classifications

- Focal awareness activities
- Direct interaction acitivities
Specially for moving from the first category to the second category people have to be motivated and the intentions and the benefits of the public display should become clear to them.
